4 Simple Steps to Connecting More With Your Audience

With these tips it's easy to build connection AND give your audience exactly what they want from you.

I've said it so many times before, and I won't stop repeating it until it's no longer true (AKA never): HUMANS CRAVE CONNECTION. Now more than ever before, we rely on personal connections with brands in deciding who to purchase from.

In this week's episode of my podcast, Through The Marketing Lens, I dove into this topic and how to make building that connection super easy.

These four tips will make building that connection easier:

1. Check in with your audience to ask what they WANT from you.

It doesn't matter how big or small your audience is. Use poll features or questions on social media to find out what value your audience is craving from you. Bonus? Those that answer your poll will feel SO SEEN when you later bring them what they asked for.

2. Use FB groups with your ideal audience to ask market research questions.

Facebook groups are FILLED with your ideal audience, almost certainly, no matter who they are. There's groups for just about everything you can imagine. Just make sure to read the group's rules, and use these as a place to ASK QUESTIONS, not to sell.

3. Start using Reddit as a market research search tool

Reddit is a massive forum site with literally millions of "subreddits" or specialized niche forums. Do some research to see what subreddits your ideal clients would be hanging out in, and read what people are writing about.

4. Join networking groups in your area or online

But here's the trick: go into it with the goal and intention of meeting people and making connections. You're not there to make your next sale. That's something that would come organically if you focus on building the connection first. And trust me, it feels so much better to get sales that way.

All of these techniques will absolutely help you to build that deeper connection with your audience, but you need to do them consistently in order to get the most benefit. Using market research to inspire every aspect of your marketing is essential to seeing more responses to your content.

If you’re interested in learning even more tips about deepening that connection with your audience, I HIGHLY recommend this recent episode of Through The Marketing Lens podcast.
